The presentation today by Kristin Gilder really hit home. It was interesting to see the activities as well as think or reflect back to what I do as a teacher. I guess I didn't really know so much about my boss after attempting to answer those 21 questions.
One of the things I did was email a copy of the how to deal with your boss paper too our principal. I thought it might be a good piece for her to share with the rest of the staff for the fall semester during one of the teacher in service days.
I also thought she might like to know the approach that some teachers may already be taking. I know next time I have to have the conversation with her I will be twice. This session was quite informational and helpful to me.
I'm feeling pretty blessed that I do have such a great principal at our school. The first year she was there, she sat back and observed. It wasn't until this year she started making changes. These changes were well thought out and necessary at our school. At first, there was a lot of resistance to the changes, but as we discussed last week, the only constant thing is change.
