Blog Post #2: All things Thursday

That Ken Paulson. What a guy.

Ken's first amendment presentation was an amazing way to begin today's session. It helped that my team was one of the three to earn second place, but I enjoyed every minute of his lesson and really feel like I can incorporate a lot of it into my first amendment lesson I teach in Journalism I. It's also pretty awesome that I'll be able to school my husband (a social studies teacher) when I get home.

On to the multimedia projects. While it was excruciatingly hot (my son may be born with a tan), our team worked hard to get the footage we will need for our multimedia package. I enjoyed talking to locals and students living near campus, and even used a lesson from this week: the following photo was taken near an open door to allow natural light into an otherwise dim space (it was the campus book store - no pun intended).

Follow all of that with a lesson in Final Cut Pro and dinner at CIBO, and I'd say it was one successful Thursday. I am really thankful to have had such great instruction this week. I am looking forward to a mini break over the weekend, but will be ready for more come Monday morning!

  2. Tracey,
What did you in your interviewing/reporting yesterday learn that you could bring back to your kids? Did you experience any difficulties/speed bumps in finding those people? By reflecting on your experience yesterday, you can really teach your kids HOW to approach that guy on the street that they don't know. This is good practice in teaching AND learning!

I think it's cool you guys went out and found a character like this guy. It looks like he has a story to tell!
