Teaching film and video production, I have been taught to stick to the Chicago Style for writing screenplays for television and film. For some reason I assumed this would spread to other forms of media. Little did I know that the AP wasn't just a news service, but the creator of a multi-paged, spiral bound book of rules and methods, most of which I have not been following correctly. Maybe one day I will be a great AP stylist.
Today's activity on editing a single sentence using the AP style was very informative. It made me realize that I have to spend more time editing my article before I turn it into Steve. I had no idea how specific things had to be for news writing publication. This explains why the opinion articles I wrote for The Daily Aztec in college never looked like the versions I would turn into my editor. There is probably a big chance this blog post is not nearly AP Style
