Surviving the end of the year...

Hello everyone,

I'm from Hampton, New Hampshire and next year will be my first year as a solo advisor for my school's newspaper.  I'm primarily a high school math teacher, but I've always had a passion to write.  For the last three years, I volunteered my time to help out as much as possible all while trying to learn as much as I could.  I am both nervous and excited to take on this responsibility.

Our school doesn't get out officially until June 24th.  So while many of my colleagues are winding down, I find myself working at a frantic pace to complete all my year end duties here in NH, and trying to get ready to attend the Institute in Arizona, June 16th.

I am hoping to survive the next week here and I am looking forward to learn as much as possible while I am there.  I am hoping that this experience will help me make my transition to advisor as smooth as possible.  I am open to any and all advice.
