Hi everyone!
I run the journalism program and advise the student newspaper at Hayes High School in a suburb of Columbus, Ohio (and if you think 55 degrees is cold, come see me in February!). I am in my fifth year of advising, and I'm excited to be spending time learning in Phoenix this summer. I considered applying to ASNE last summer, but I had just finished my master's degree at Mizzou and, to be honest, was feeling a bit burnt-out on textbook learning. After a year away from any legitimate professional development, I feel ready to hit the textbooks again!
This summer will be a bit crazy for me - between family vacations, ASNE, and attending the JEA Adviser's Institute in Las Vegas, I will be sleeping in my own bed only 8 times between June 16 and July 21...but I think all of those things will combine to make for a summer of awesome experiences.
