Session One

LeAnne Wiseman of the American Society of News Editors shared valuable resources with the teachers at Reynolds Institute today.  The Demon Dispatch is a small paper with a smaller staff, so Wiseman's information on McClatchy-Tribune proved particularly helpful.  For a $100 license fee, the service provides news articles, political cartoons and other content.  Given the need to constantly provide new content when online, this service can help support a paper and supplement student work.

Wiseman also brought information about a partnership program that links high school papers with news outlets.  This program provides $2000 to reinvigorate programs and provide new equipment. This information alone makes the Institute well worth the time investment, and we're only an hour into the first day.
