Institute Publication

One of the most stressful parts of everyone's experience here at the Institute was the online institute publication, I think.  So it's a great relief for the majority of us that the publication is ready to go live this afternoon.

While writing our articles for the Institute was probably a significant source of stress for many of us, I think it was also an awesome experience.  We had multiple chances to experience Steve's red pen throughout these two weeks, and I know that I speak for many of us when I say that I am grateful for the feedback.  Steve is an amazing editor, especially when it comes to cutting redundancy (and repetition!), and I will be more aware of those issues in my own future writing.

I also feel blessed to be able to work with different groups of individuals throughout this process, including a fantastic team of group leaders.  They did such a great job of organizing the publication and making decisions about the website.  While many group experiences in my professional life have been tedious and time consuming, my experiences with these groups of professionals have been inspiring.

I'm so grateful that I've met everyone here, and I'm excited to continue these relationships in the future.

  1. Thank you for your work as an editor of the Institute publication, Julie! I can't wait to read everyone's articles.

I agree with you about our experiences her being inspiring and not even close to tedious. I have found value in every single session we have been a part of. Every day for the past 10 days I have learned valuable, practical ways to be a better teacher. I know it costs thousands of dollars to send a single fellow here, but the experience has truly been priceless. (I know that is so incredibly cheesy, but no other words describe it better!)

I look forward to keeping in touch and seeing how you find ways to implement what you've taken home with you.
