Shattered Glass Revisited

It is always a good idea to revisit significant films as we did last night with our viewing of Shattered Glass.   Although I have watched and taught this film several times, I gained a new perspective last night.  Steve spoke about how to recognize a cheater.  As I watched the film, I began to recognize those characteristics.  I feel this is new knowledge and a new way of looking at this film that I can convey to my students.  I am thinking about having them watch it twice, once for content and another for the subtext.  I am hoping I do not see any of these characteristics in my students and I hope they will be able to internalize the ethical significance of this case.  I loved the interview with Glass that we watched before and will also try to incorporate that in my classroom.

  1. I have never seen this movie in its entirety until today and I thought it was awesome! I agree that Glass interview was pretty cool too! I will probably show that movie to my kids this year!

  2. This was the first time I had ever see this film and I thought it was pretty good. I find it disappointing that Glass, who obviously craves attention, has gotten so much attention from this including his own book and then the movie made about his cheating. Then, teachers use his story in the classroom which gives him more attention. It will be interesting to see if he is ever licensed to practice law in the U.S.
