Today we worked in groups as reporters trying to find a story. During this exercise a scenario was set up and "actors" played the roles of different people one would find at the scene of an incident. Our "actors" were very good, so good in fact that I started to believe I was really reporting on the story. What a great exercise for us and one that could be used with our students. I really got a sense of the persistence needed to find the story. I also recognized how quick one must think in these situations that are unfolding. Doing something like this with students would make them realize that they must not quit until they get the information they need. They would also understand what it really takes to get the story. Looking forward to more exciting things tomorrow.
