From the perspective of a teacher, I really enjoyed seeing how Steve used video clips from movies I have used in my classroom before but never had much success or positive feedback from students. This is exactly what my county wants us to do, but I have never been able to create the environment I found myself in today. The 2-minute drill with focused feedback will definitely be on my list of "Must Do This" with my staff and journalism one students.
Now, to learn how to embed clips in PowerPoint so that they will play without having to be connected to the Internet.

I love using movie clips during my lessons. I am very excited to use the "All the President's Men" clips. It also keeps students interested!

I understand where you are coming from. I have also tried using movie clips in my lessons, with some working well and others not working so well. I liked the 2 Minute Drills because it keeps the kids accountable. I typically show a clip and then ask for a volunteer with the usual, "What connections can you make to this clip?" Having the students discuss the clips in a think-pair-share type of scenario would work really well. And why have I never thought to use a movie clip to show good interviewing practices?
